  • Jett May | Founder & Specialist Tutor

    Currently studying a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Queensland, Jett is passionate about helping future tertiary students succeed. Jett has worked within the QCE high school education system for almost a year, providing high-quality tutoring support.

    Through a combination of digital resources and in-person expertise, Jett strives to enhance each students academic proficiency, as well as their ability to prepare for assessment items. With a graduating score of 99.25, Jett's senior subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematical Methods, Literature and Modern History provide an extensive level of tutoring expertise.

    Further to academic success, Jett also looks to mould each students attitude towards learning into one of personal pride and reslilliance in the face of adversity, skills that are easily translatable in and out of the classroom environment.

    In his spare time, Jett enjoys snowboarding, surfing and playing football. Understanding the balance between time spent achieving academic success and recharging the mind is critical to Jett's teaching philosophy.

  • Toby Garraway | Executive & Specialist Tutor

    Toby Garraway, the 2023 School Captain of Churchie, is currently studying a Bachelor of Science/Laws and is passionate about helping future students achieve academic success.

    With an impressive ATAR of 99.45, Toby specializes in tutoring STEM subjects, particularly Biology and Maths Methods. His strong achievements and education in these areas allows him to guide students through challenging topics and help them develop effective strategies for assessments and exams. Toby excels in time management, organisation, and study skills, reflected in his busy Year 12 period and excellent results.

    Toby’s committed to fostering a proactive attitude toward learning, helping students overcome academic hurdles and build skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

    Outside of tutoring and his studies, Toby is deeply involved in his college and social community. He plays in the 'Who is John' band and competes in sports like ICC touch, rugby, and rowing. He’s also been involved in initiatives like the World’s Greatest Shave, always finding ways to stay engaged and give back.

  • Angus Montague | Specialist Tutor

    Angus has excelled in key subjects like Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Physics, and dux of engineering, showcasing his commitment to academic excellence, graduating high school with an ATAR of 99.25. Angus is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering and Commerce at the University of Queensland and is passionate about passing his knowledge to future students looking to thrive in STEM subjects.

    With expertise in a variety of subjects, Angus uses a combination of thorough resources and a disciplined approach to ensure that his students are well-prepared to perform at the highest academic level. Teaching not only individual subjects, but also refined study skills and techniques is key to his tutoring philosophy.

    Beyond academics, Angus aims to inspire students to develop personal resilience and discipline in their learning, equipping them with skills that extend beyond the classroom. Throughout high school, he performed at a national level in his sport while continuing to thrive in the classroom. This provides a deep understanding of how balance between academic focus and personal interests is essential to achieving and maintaining long term success.

  • Ethan Naidu | Specialist Tutor

    Currently studying a science medicine degree at the University of Queensland, Ethan is a dedicated and accomplished tutor passionate about helping students achieve academic excellence. With an ATAR of 99.4, Ethan brings first-hand experience with the QCE curriculum, offering expert tutoring in Physics, Chemistry, Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, and French.

    Ethan has been actively involved in tutoring and mentoring students through his role as 2024 Grenfell House Captain, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in their studies. Through a combination of structured learning techniques and tailored feedback, Ethan ensures each student maximizes their academic potential.

    Beyond academics, Ethan enjoys playing rugby and surfing, providing him with a deep understanding of balancing high achievement and workloads with extracurricular as well as personal commitments. He believes in fostering resilience, independent learning, and strategic study habits to help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom. He understands the importance of balancing study with personal interests and incorporates this philosophy into his tutoring approach.

  • Alex Grant | Expert STEM Tutor

    Alex is currently studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and is dedicated to supporting future tertiary students in achieving academic success. Having graduated from high school in New Zealand with an outstanding ATAR equivalent of 99.75, Alex brings expertise in subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering, Science, and Spanish.

    With a strong background in tutoring, Alex provides students with the tools to master difficult concepts and develop effective study strategies for exams and assessments. Leveraging both digital resources and face-to-face guidance, Alex is focused on boosting students' academic abilities and self-confidence.

    In addition to academic tutoring, Alex encourages students to cultivate resilience and a proactive attitude toward learning. This approach not only aids in overcoming academic challenges but also builds essential skills for success in life.

    Outside of the classroom, Alex is a passionate guitarist playing in the college band, as well as being an avid skier and fisher, enjoying the outdoors of both Australia and New Zealand.

  • Will Whitehead | Expert Humanities Tutor

    Currently studying a Bachelor of Construction Management at the Queensland University of Technology, Will is passionate about helping students navigate the academic challenges of senior schooling. Having balanced co-curricular commitments alongside his studies, he understands the importance of effective time management and strategic learning.

    Graduating in 2024 with an ATAR of 98.2, Will excelled across a range of subjects, earning the title of Dux of Literature and achieving a perfect external exam score in Engineering—one of only ten students in Queensland to do so. In addition to his academic achievements, Will was a 2024 Churchie Prefect, demonstrating strong leadership and teamwork. His well-rounded experience allows him to provide tailored support to students striving for excellence.

    In his spare time, Will is actively involved in coaching cricket this year, helping young athletes develop their skills both on and off the field. Understanding the importance of balancing academics with personal interests, he encourages students to develop strong study habits while making time for the things they love.

  • Olivia Light| Expert STEM & Languages Tutor

    Currently studying a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Olivia is a dedicated tutor with a passion for helping students excel across a variety of subjects. With expertise in English, French, Mathematics, and Biology, she provides well-rounded academic support tailored to each student’s needs.

    Throughout her schooling, Olivia demonstrated strong leadership as both Language Captain and Chapel Captain, showcasing her ability to mentor and guide others effectively. She was actively involved in mentoring programs and volunteer initiatives, helping students build confidence and develop a positive approach to learning.

    Olivia’s tutoring style is engaging and structured, ensuring students gain a clear understanding of key concepts while refining their problem-solving and study strategies. She focuses on tailored learning techniques to help students strengthen their academic skills and reach their full potential.

    Outside of tutoring, Olivia enjoys spending time at the beach, playing sports, and socialising. She values the importance of balancing academics with personal passions and encourages students to develop effective study habits while making time for the activities they love.
